After 16 successful years in business, Plum Tree welcomes you to come enjoy the new
outdoor dining patio just completed last year. You can now dine in a natural and serene
setting surrounded by tall bamboo, rocks and a new outdoor waterfall.

Also featured as part of Plum Tree’s new makeover is a brand new entrance and fish pond as
you walk in the front door. All the furniture (tables and chairs) have been completely replaced,
the carpet has been switched out for a pretty wood floor, the windows to the garden now slide
all the way open, and the restrooms have even had a total makeover....

But of course, a beautiful setting is nothing without extraordinary food! The New York
Times proclaimed Plum Tree "very good" and Zagat rates the experience at Plum Tree
"very good - excellent".

Here we find the private dining room that features a different handpainted paper design on each of its walls. The princely room is completed with an entry & window that are styled after Shinto shrine gateways & a walnut and cherry floor that is crafted to become the rising sun.

Round the corner to enter what Connecticut Magazine noted as Plum Tree's "serene and elegant dining room." A gem among Japanese restaurants, Plum Tree models itself after the Emperor's dining room.

CHEF NAGATA
Owner and chief chef Hiroyuki "James" Nagata sees that Plum Tree's food lives up to its surroundings.

Nagata, born in Japan, has spent nearly 30 years in the restaurant business including working at the Nagoya fish market (the 2nd largest market in the world).

One can sample the freshest creations of expert sushi chef's or try other traditional favorites such as tempura, teriyaki and hibachi style fish, beef and chicken dishes served on sizzling iron plates. Nagata says "the menu includes all the favorites our customers demand as well as many items not always found in Japanese restaurants." (top)
